The UTC TrojanFit centre will not only be a meeting point for boxing, but also for mixed martial arts, attracting elite athletes from all over Europe and the world. “It is a demand for all athletes who seek to train in an environment with good weather and the best conditions,” the promoters of the project have highlighted. In addition, the facility will be a growth engine for these disciplines, which are booming. The initiative has the support of the Dawes family, which has allocated an investment of one million euros for its development, with an expected execution period of six months.
The facilities are expected to be operational in late 2025 or early 2026. “This project is a great opportunity for Aspe, since it will not only bring world championships and international preparations, but will also foster interaction with local groups,” said Antonio Puerto, mayor of Aspe. The centre will be available to local clubs and schools, allowing sporting events to take place and promoting the development of sport in the community.
The arrival of this sports infrastructure will be an important boost for the social and commercial fabric of the town, positioning Aspe as a benchmark for boxing and martial arts at an international level. Kiko Martínez, world boxing champion, and climent brothers coaches of illia Topuria has assured that “this project is going to be a very important claim for the world of martial arts that will place Aspe on the map within this discipline.”
